Congratulations to Team Captain, Cha Cruz :)

A well deserved prized for Team Captain and Miss Everything, Cha Cruz :)

The Seniors each had their own set of trophies! Jacq Alarca as MVP of the Season and Cha Cruz as  the MVP  of the Finals :D Congrats Ladies in Green! ANIMO! ALL FOR THE GREATER GLORY OF GOD :) Weeeee!

" Well Cha's been very consistent. We've always been saying it in terms of the numbers, we don't really see a standout in La Salle it's primarily because everyone is just performing well but CHA, very consistent, all through out this season. She has stabilized how this girls have played, she can play dual roles, very agile very flexible in terms of position. A well deserved award for Cha Cruz! "

- Anne Remula, UAAP Season 73 Finals Commentator

Well, what else can I say? They've said it all. But anyhow, I would like to deeply congratulate Charleen Abigaile Cruz for earning the MVP of the Finals award. As what Anne Remula had just stated, it was a well deserved award for the most hard working, agile, painstaking and incomparable player of the UAAP Season 73 Women's Volleyball Tournament :) Well yes, we've heared of speculations about her not playing in the Season 74, due to the fact that she's a graduating student of La Salle and basically, she would want to focus more on her studies to achieve her diploma with flying colors :) You know what I mean.. She's on her 4th Year in AB Psychology, and mind you. That course is merciless for you are studying the human brain plus the human behavior and etc. LOL! Too much Biology here :))) But whatever her decision is, let us respect it. Who knows? She might come out as the Magna Cum Laude of La Salle :)

God bless Cha! We're gonna support you all the way! ANIMO! Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam :)

La Salle's Triple Threat, The Big M.A.C :D

The Big M.A.C.
Mercado-Alarca-Cruz

As promised, here they are My 3 Favorite players in the UAAP Season 73 Women's Volleyball Tournament.

Big M!
Wearing jersey Number 4 is La Salle's Miss Show Stopper, Stephanie D. Mercado. Steph Mercado or "Paneng" as what her teammates would call her is La Salle's Open Spiker. But she's not a plain and simple Spiker. She is often called as Miss Show Stopper. Why? This is what's amazing about her, when their opponent grabs the momentum from them, she automatically hooks it and never returns it back! For shorter terms, she wants the momentum of the crowd to stay with them and exclusively for them. She's a hard hitter Spiker. Doesn't fear anyone at all. Even if there 3 tall and strong blockers infront her, it is still amazing on how she could find a small opening between those baraquades trying to stop her from grabbing the momentum.. Added info, she is the Daughter of Mrs. Lydia De Vega-Mercado, former Asia's Sprint Queen. Now we know where Steph got her athletic skills :)

 Big A!
Wearing jersey Number 3, La Salle's Miss Tower of Taft, Jacqueline Alarca. As what the crowd remembers from this girl is that she stands 5"9 and has amazing leaping skills which makes her the team's Chieftain on the Blocking department. She has bagged several individual awards including this year's Best Server, Best Spiker and MVP of the Finals. She was gifted with overflowing calcium which made her tall and gain strong bones. While for some players, Blocking is a backbreaking job to do, for her, Blocking just like a walk in the park. That's why she is called Miss Tower of Taft. But she does not only capitalize on her Blocking Skills. The "Jacqueline Alarca Dump ball Claw" is mostly feared by the players. As you can see, some would usually dump volleyballs when they do Off-Speed hits. Dump Balls by the way are balls that were hit without any exerted energy. It travels lightly unlike strong spikes. But Jacq Alarca's dump ball is way different from other players. She makes it look like a Dump Ball but she exerts power in it by forming a claw like structure in her hands pushing the ball towards the other side of the court.  Now you know why she's the MVP of the Season :)

Big C!
Wearing Jersey Number 11, La Salle's Miss EverythingDLSU's Lady Spikers' Team Captain, and my Personal Favorite, Charleen Abigaile Cruz. Cha Cruz, as what her teammates would call her is the De La Salle Lady Spikers' Team Captain for the Season 73 of the Women's Volleyball  Tournament. As we all know, you won't be a Team Captain for nothing. You won't be a Team Captain if you don't have the TSP Factor or what they call the T-Talent, S-Skill, and P-Power. But this Green Lady Archer right here is someone who will extend your imaginations to the limit! Why? And why is she even called as Miss Everything? Well, here's the catch, Cha Cruz first appeared in the UAAP Volleyball Arena during the Season 70 of the Women's Volleyball Tournament. So it was way back 4 years ago. During that time, she was still a fresh graduate from high school. Upon her entry, she was first made as the Team's Setter. As we all know, Setters don't really get much of the credit and attention because it's seldom that they score a point. People did not really recognize her skill. But she did a tremendous Setting Job which made her team win the Championship Title. Now, this is the time where Cha Cruz's talent really flourished. It was during the Season 71 when she was then converted from being a Setter to being an Open Spiker and Middle Blocker for the team. And as expected, she delivered her task excellently, making La Salle the Champions AGAIN. She was then flocked by Volleyball Fanatics and Sports Analyst thus coining her names such as "The Spiking Machine", "De La Salle's Great Green Archer", "La Salle's Mighty Blocking Force" "La Salle's Great Green Wall" and many many more. But as the years grew by, the name that was really granted to her is, " De La Salle's Miss Everything"... Sports Analyst would often make articles telling readers on how this Lady evolved from being an unpopular Setter to a sought-after Cross-Court and Down the Line Attacker.

"She can Set, she can Block, She can Spike, She can Dig. What else can you ask for? Name it, she can do it! Cha Cruz has done everything for her team!"

- Commentator, Doc Ian Laurel

And no wonder. La Salle redeemed the Championship Title from UST making them this years UAAP Season 73 Women's Volleyball Champions. And it was because of Cha Cruz's remarkable leadership plus her matching Talent, Forte, and Intelligence when playing inside the Volleyball Arena. And during the Finals, she truly gave an eavesdropping performance, thus making her the MVP of the Finals! She never wasted the name that was bestowed upon her. Truly, she is "Miss Everything, Cha Cruz"

More Big M.A.C. Photos!

Best of friends, Steph Mercado and Cha Cruz giving each other a warm hug for winning the UAAP Women's Volleyball Tournament.

Making a statement on their last playing year, Jacq Alacrca and Steph Mercado gave honor and Glory to La Salle!

Cha Cruz flashes a big smile while holding her Finals MVP Trophy together with the MVP of the Season, Jacq Alarca.

All smiles for the BIG M.A.C. as they smell the Championship Title.

They only played for one audience. GOD :)

All for the Glory of God :)

UAAP SEASON 73 WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONS!

Aim your arrows right on the mark! One Goal. One Team. One LA SALLE!

Coz when they mean Redemption, they mean the CHAMPIONSHIP!

GO LA SALLE! GO GO LA SALLE LA SALLE! Balimbing? Yes! HAHAHA :D As everyone knows, I was a Certified Ateneo Supporter for the fact that I am an Atenean. But who cares if I support our school's rival? Well, not the entire school. Just a portion of it. And this includes their Women's Volleyball Team.

The De La Salle University Lady Spikers is one the best and hottest teams in the whole Philippines. The fact that they have garnered dozens and dozens of Championship Titles for their school is something big to hear for Volleyball Fanatics like me. I have never noticed this team before. They did not have as much fans as what the Ateneo Lady Eagles had. Let's face the fact. The Lady Archers was not a popular team. But their talents was just like a sparkling rainbow filled vibrant colors. A rainbow is hard to find. It's rare. You may only see it when you look closer. That's the talent of the Lady Archers. Their talent is rare and is hard to find. They have a strong and monstrous First 6 plus include their incomparable Bench Players.

And this year, they have proven once again that Archers are the killers of Volleyballs inside the Volleyball court. Dude, when I mean killers of Volleyballs, what I mean is the balls and not the players. Maybe you'll be mistaken the figure of speech I'm using. It's the balls that they kill. Not the players. Get it? HAHA :D Going back, the De La Salle Lady Archers once again got a hooked of the UAAP WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP! Yes you've heared it right. They have beaten the University of Santo Tomas Lady Tigresses in a 3 Set Game that happened just last Saturday, February 26, 2011. It was a sweatless game for the Ladies in Green for this is what they have planed and asked for, another UAAP Championship Title. Plus, they've had 6 individual awards for their players. This includes the Rookie of the Year for Mikaela Esperanza, Best Spiker, Best Server, (Jacquline Alarca), Best Blocker (Michele Gumabao), MVP of the Season, (Jacqueline Alarca) and the MVP OF THE FINALS (Charleen Abigaile Cruz). You see how much potential this team has?! And for sure, next year, these Ladies in Green would pave their way to victory once again! ANIMO LA SALLE!

Boredom kills :D

Well well well. Look who's back! LoL! It's just me. Hey, sorry for all the those readers of mine who were not able to read my new blogs. Got kinda busy in school these past few months. You see, it's our 4th Grading period. Competitions here, Concept Notes there, Portfolios waiting to be arranged, Clearances waiting to be signed, and many many more. Actually, I'm starting to get PISSED right now with all those nonsense that we have to do while we're in High School. Like this signing of Clearances for High School Students. We have to freaking run for our teacher just for him or her to sign a certain subject. Ghad! Takes up time :( Anyhow, just had time to do this blog thingy due to our spiritless I.T. Teacher! HAHAHA :D

So this is it for now. I'll try to post new stuff tonight  (if i have FREE TIME). Relax guys. I'll try me very best :D I have a lot of NEW and HOT THINGS to share! Changes will occur :D Watch out for my new topics :)))))
