She's just ONE OF A KIND :)

You may wonder why I placed a picture of a beautiful girl up there... My dear readers, that is definitely not me :D Let me introduce to you GRETCHEN Ho, my number one IDOL in the VOLLEYBALL industry! YEAH!

Gretchen Ho is a junior college student from the Ateneo De Manila University. She's currently taking up Management Engineering as her course. But she is no ordinary student. She has been playing for the Ateneo Lady Eagles Women's volleyball team since her 1st year in college... And no wonder, she has given honor to Ateneo when they've landed 3rd place (just last year) on the UAAP Season 72 Volleyball Tournament. It was the highest place Ateneo has earned since the beginning of the UAAP Season. Gretchen or Gretch as what her teammates would call her, plays Middle Blocker and a Quick Spiker for their team. Being a Middle Blocker and a Quicker requires quick feet and lightning-fast decision-making. She has won so many awards since she was grade 5 and was even hailed as MVP, Best Blocker, Best Spiker and belonged to the Mythical 6 of Ateneo (together with Fille Saint Merced Cainglet, Angeline Gervacio, Kara Acevedo, Jem Ferrer and Bea Pascual..) Indeed, she is known to be held as the Princess of Philippine Volleyball..

But Volleyball is not the only thing that Gretchen knows. Well, most of us may think that once your a Student-Athlete, you don't really prioritize your studies since you do sports often. But Gretchen's different. She has been a Consistent Honor Student and a Dean's Lister in Ateneo throughout the years. And that's the reason why I idolize her. You see, only a few student-athletes could do that. You know, balance both sports and academics. I consider myself as a student-athlete and sometimes, I find it hard to balance my studies and training... So it is really admirable for someone who can accomplish both tasks. When you see her play, you could really say how devoted she is in her craft. Even if their opponents leading, she stays optimistic and just plays her game... Now that's one Role Model that kids (like me.. hahaha) must really look up to..

Oh well, I'll have to adjourn this again.. But if Gretchen Ho touched you life(like how she touched mine), you could visit this link What Student-Athletes Should Be... (for further information)Or better yet, try using Google or Facebook. It's free anyway :D

BYEEEEEEE for now :D till we meet again :) Always remember, we could always be a great human being if we decide to be one :) ADIOS! Thanks for dropping by :p
